Frequently Asked Questions

  • 50-minute session cost: $165.

We have a limited number of sliding scale spots in the range of $95-$125 depending on your financial situation. You can inquire about whether we currently have any sliding scale spots available through the contact form or in our initial phone consultation. *Currently all sliding scale spots are full.

Casey & Kendra do not take insurance at this time. If you live in the state of Colorado, they can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance as an out-of-network provider.

  • We have limited in-person availability in the Cap Hill neighborhood in Denver.

All other sessions will be held via Telehealth, so we will be able to meet regardless of where you live. Because our licensure is through the state of Colorado, if you live outside of Colorado our work together will be slightly limited in that we will be working with you as a coach and not as a licensed therapist (due to state licensing laws).

  • Due to state licensing laws, therapists are only able to see therapy clients in the state they are licensed. We are both licensed in Colorado and can work with clients as Licensed Professional Counselors who also live here.

Because we are trying to meet a very specific and niche need, and because there are very limited practitioners specializing in this area, we have also decided to offer coaching to clients outside of Colorado.

Coaching is not regulated in the same way and also does not have the same protections. Because of that, we are NOT able to work with out-of-state coaching clients who have a higher level of need (for example, clients who are experiencing suicidality or complex mental health diagnoses).

Our approach to both therapy and coaching is similar in that we will always be relational, process-oriented, and will utilize modalities appropriate for both therapy and coaching.

We have a document further detailing the differences between therapy and coaching for those who are interested, or can talk through this in our consultation call.

  • We will never try to influence what you believe. We both have found a great deal of value in Christian faith and spirituality, and have also both experienced hurt, doubt, and changes within that. We understand many clients will want to work through hurt they’ve experienced while staying rooted in their faith, and that many clients will decide to leave their faith behind. Our job is never to influence what you believe or what you should think, but rather to be with you along the way.

  • What our sessions look like will depend largely on what you are looking for and what you believe will be most helpful to your own journey. We may focus on processing together, talking through current struggles or past hurt.

In addition, because many forms of religion encourage disconnecting from your body, true needs, and emotions, we may also slow down and focus on somatic work, learning to listen to your body and being more mindful of what it’s teaching you. We may also explore parts of self, including inner child work, explore identity, or work on building self-compassion. If you would like to process through how to rebuild faith or spirituality in your life, we would love to talk through that with you as well.

If you are unsure of how your faith tradition may have impacted you, we can also provide topics for us to explore and make sense of together. Lastly, we will do our best to provide outside resources, and skills you can use on your own outside of sessions.

  • Absolutely! We tend to share about our experience with Evangelical and fundamentalist forms of Christianity because that is what we are most familiar with. For clients from that background, we will be able to understand more of the experiences and nuances of what the impact can be, and some of the potential messages and systems that can cause hurt and harm in those particular spaces. That being said, there is a LOT of overlap with any fundamentalist faith system, as most of them tend to be high-demand and high-control systems. Whether you come from a different faith background or experienced a family that was high-demand and high-control, we would love to chat and see if we could still be a good fit for working with you.

Where do I go from here?

  • Fill out the contact form so that we can get in touch. We offer free 15 minute phone consultations so that we can chat and give you the chance to ask any questions before scheduling. If you decide you’d like to work together, we will schedule our first session over the phone (or later via email) and you’ll receive your paperwork to fill out ahead of time online.

  • Before our first session, your therapist will look over your paperwork and make sure everything is set up. If we are meeting online, you will receive a video link before your session start time.

During our initial meeting, your therapist will want the chance to hear your story, understand what you’re hoping to gain from therapy or coaching sessions, and introduce what our work together will look like.

  • It is completely up to you how often you would like to meet, but it is common for clients to choose to meet weekly or every other week.

Consistency helps tremendously with creating momentum towards healing as we work together. What our sessions look like will depend largely on you, and what you’re hoping to gain from our time together.

There is no set number of sessions decided ahead of time, since every person will need something different. Some clients may only want to meet for a few sessions, while others may want to work together for several months or years.
